The Artist: Fiona Mckechnie

Welcome to thistleart where I will be blogging about painting, drawing, and art in general.

The blog will also be a platform to showcase some of my recent work.

I really loved art at school but didn’t pursue it with much interest until fairly recently. I began to dabble as a hobby and remembered how much I loved creating images onto a blank canvas. Gradually, it has taken over all my free time and has now become a serious obsession.

I work from my home near Edinburgh, in Scotland and I often take inspiration from the countryside, landscapes and people around me.

My favourite mediums are currently Acrylic inks, Watercolour, Pastels and Charcoal. I would love to try Oils, however, that is for another day!

I hope that you enjoy the artwork and find the posts of interest and maybe even of some use to you.

I accept commissions, such as family portraits, pet portraits and favourite scenes or places.
